What is Intermittent Fasting?

There has been a great deal of talk and speculation about intermittent fasting (IF-ing). Exactly what is it? IF-ing is a way of life!

It doesn’t involve buying any products, attending any meetings, exercise or dieting. It’s more about WHEN you eat not WHAT you eat. Intermittent fasting is simply an eating pattern where you cycle between periods of eating and fasting.
There are several different intermittent fasting methods, all of which split the day or week into eating periods and fasting periods.

You are probably already fasting every day while you sleep. Intermittent fasting can be as simple as extending that fast a little longer. For example, a lot of people start IF-ing by skipping breakfast and eating their first meal at 12 noon and last meal by 8 p.m..This is known as the 16:8 method of fasting. Fast for 16 hours and have an eating window of 8 hours. There are other methods of IF- ing that will be discussed in future postings.
